Small-town roots.
A maker’s heart.
Inspired by the place we call home.
Made meaningful by the people in it.

An artist’s hands.
A neighbor’s heart.
Patty has spent most of her life between Hamer and Dubois, and for 33 years she served as a postmaster. That made her far more than a familiar face behind a counter: she became a steady, trusted part of everyday life here and an absolute staple of the community.
She is an artist in the fullest sense. Patty can draw and paint beautifully, but her creativity goes much further than a canvas. Give her fabric, beads, wood, paint, found materials, or almost anything that needs a skilled pair of hands, and she has a way of turning it into something beautiful.
Warm, kind and deeply reliable, Patty is also an incredible mother and the sort of person who makes people feel welcome. The Handsmade Emporium grew from that same spirit. She opened it to support growth in the community and to give local artisans a place where their handmade work could be seen, appreciated and sold.
The shop is full of handmade goods from area makers, but the discoveries do not stop there. Patty also fills it with unique Western and rustic gifts of all kinds: jewelry, hats, cozy goods, decor, accessories and one-of-a-kind finds that feel right at home in this part of Idaho.
